Business Office

The Business Office is responsible for coding and billing patient visits at both the Lapwai and Kamiah Nimiipuu Health clinics. The team has extensive knowledge and experience in revenue reimbursement services, clinical coding, and billing for many types of patient care visits.

The Business Office supports billing for services including:

• Medical visits
• Laboratory services
• Optical services
• Behavioral Health services
• Other patient care services

Clinical billing generates revenue for Nimiipuu Health and helps supplement Indian Health Service budget dollars. Revenue generated through the Business Office has historically helped support the expansion of programs and services within Nimiipuu Health.

Benefits Coordination

Benefits Coordination staff assist patients with applying for alternate health resources, including Medicaid, Medicare, Affordable Care Act Marketplace coverage, and other insurance coverage.

Benefits Coordination can assist with:

• Medicaid applications
• Medicare applications
• Affordable Care Act Marketplace coverage
• Insurance coverage assistance
• Premium Payback Program registration for qualified individuals
• Limited assistance with Social Security Disability applications

Priority is given to clients with Purchased/Referred Care high-cost claims. Having insurance helps save PRC funding and generates revenue, allowing Nimiipuu Health to provide more services to patients.

Clinical Records

Clinical Records, previously known as Medical Records, helps ensure the accuracy, confidentiality, and accessibility of patient health information. This work supports high-quality, continuous patient care.

The Clinical Records team assists with:

• Release of Information requests
• Patient record requests
• Coordination with providers and referral facilities
• Insurance and legal claim audits
• Regulatory documentation support
• Scanning clinical records received from hospitals and specialty clinics into patient files

Clinical Records works with patients, providers, hospitals, specialty clinics, and referral facilities to support continuity of care while protecting patient privacy.
